Dredge is last in Colorado

Here is a kind of sad story.

I have a thing for dredges, don't know why. Maybe because I was an engineer on one in the Arctic many years ago...

Anyway read about this one and the efforts made to save it. You will want to kick someones ass once you find out why it is not being done.

Sounds like we had some fun?

I wonder why they would not say if they found any gold? Should we be looking?

What are your thoughts?

I think that they may have been a little embarrassed...

Yukon River Canada

Here we are with the second part of Kitco's seven part Yukon gold series.  This one has little more meat in it, as you know, the first part was just a general introduction.

This time we actually talk to some miners and there's a few facts and figures.

There Was Gold on The Moon, and I Panned Some

Zero gravity is good for some people's imagination.

Come on Edger.... Did you see any Buffalo there? What? You must have been blinded by the famous "white light" coming from the underside of the mysterious craft.

Give us something to work with here. Did you happen to see any Thetans? Was there a statue honoring Captain  L. Ron Hubbard?

You saw a submarine? What color? Did it have a claim in your area? Undersurface mining... I see. Did you tap on the hull?

There are tears in my eyes as I type this so it will be short.

California Gold Prospectors

"Discovery of Gold in California" - ...
"Discovery of Gold in California" - The discovery of gold at Sutter's Mill set off the California gold rush of 1849. In this scene prospectors dig for gold with picks and shovels and pan for the precious metal. In the center three well-dressed men, possibly John Sutter and two friends, carefully examine the contents of a prospector's pan. This was the last scene designed by Brumidi and painted by Costaggini. (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

There's Gold in Them Thar Shallow California Creeks

You are probably tired of hearing about the super recreational gold panning opportunities created by the drought in California.

I think I will call the participants the "Fifteeners".

I have decided to curate one more article regardless, it shall be about the new 2015 California gold rush...

Here is what the NY Times has to say about the California drought and the gold rush it has created:

How to make money gold panning in Utah

I'm back already.  I found a really good article about panning gold in Utah.

Interesting for me because I am going to be there at the beginning of August, after Hot August Nights in Reno, NV. I will not be panning for gold but visiting the Bonneville salt Flats for speed week.  You should go!!

I have spent a lot of time in Utah and to be honest, never really considered a place to go for gold panning.

I gave the article read and there's some really good links at the bottom that I followed up on.

I'm sure you will want to as well.

This might be a blog you'll want to keep an eye on.

I couldn't find any real good gold panning articles to show you today so I decided to send this instead.

I have to be a fan of sourdough bread, so decided that maybe you would be to.  As a matter fact it just had a tuna sandwich made with sourdough bread.

Anyway, it's a quick read, let me know what you think please.
