120 Years Ago: The Klondike Gold Rush

This is the best article I have ever read about the Klondike gold rush.

It is a little on the longish side, but if you read it all I am certain you will learn at least a couple of things you never knew.

Here is some more Klondike lore. Thia time all the way from Hannibal, MO. best known for Mark Twain there were other people there who did some very impressive things with the time they had on Level One.

Kind of makes you wonder how they are doing on Level Two?

It brings to mind that old expression "what goes round, comes round." I think that is what it was.

There ar other ways to describe this as well. "Karma" comes to mind.

This looks like it could be an interesting read.

Mr. Jack London is mentioned "an arrogant, drunken lout"

I will be getting a copy, how about you? I have always been in awe of the early gold seekers of the Klondike.

A follow-up to an earlier post regarding Daryl Carey vs. his sometimes partner Rodney Adams.

If you remember they had a dispute over a few placer claims in Whitehorse, Yukon.

And I mean IN Whitehorse - the claims are within city limits.

The criteria used to settle this dispute is unique and kind of kool I think.

Here Is This - If You Care.

I know there are a lot of "folks" (I hate that word) out there who watch this faithfully. I watch it out of interest, I am not sure what that interest is but anyway there it is.

If you are familiar with Baker county you will know it was a gold hot spot at one time. Not so much anymore, but this will sure bring a few new pans and sluices into the area.

Good luck to you all.

Here we go. You head down to your local grocery outlet and buy a few pounds of corn starch.

Next you go to your local dumpster divers outlet and grab as many scrap electronics as you can carry.

Now you head for home and go to work in your garage.

You are going to recycle the electronics using the corn starch to grab the gold.

see the rest here: Non-toxic corn starch could replace cyanide in gold mines:
