A blog for recreational gold panners everywhere. Please add any comments and ideas you have. I am trying to get something going here that will benefit all "Mom & Pop" miners. People who search for gold whether they use a traditional gold pan or some new fangled contraption. Of course all you metal detector miners are welcome as well.

Remembering Mother
I am putting this in as a MUST READ. It is a great tribute to this man's Mother.
There are tears in my eyes as I type this so it will be short.

California Gold Prospectors
"Discovery of Gold in California" - The discovery of gold at Sutter's Mill set off the California gold rush of 1849. In this scene prospectors dig for gold with picks and shovels and pan for the precious metal. In the center three well-dressed men, possibly John Sutter and two friends, carefully examine the contents of a prospector's pan. This was the last scene designed by Brumidi and painted by Costaggini. (Photo credit: Wikipedia) |
